Below is a checklist for your wedding day so you can keep on schedule with all the different activities to be done, as well as a few wedding planning tips.

Your Dream Wedding Checklist

You’ve now said, “Yes.”  This is the beginning of your new life as a couple.  And now before your special wedding day, you and your groom have many, many decisions to make as well as many wedding planning activities to do.

But preparing for your wedding day does not have to be stressful.  Actually, it really should be fun and memorable.  And to do this, start it off right by putting together a simple wedding timetable.

A short check list of wedding planning activities as well as a rough estimate of when these activities should be done is laid out for you below. There are also tips and some guidelines to help keep you more organized and help you think of everything you need to do to plan for your big day.  Of course, these are only suggestions.  All of the activities and the schedule time line are still up to you two to decide on, depending on your priorities.

To Do At The Time Of Engagement

* Of course you need to tell your parents the exciting news as soon as possible, of course they may already know!  If you are planning an engagement party, let your relatives and close friends know, too.
* A wedding planner/organizer would be a great idea to have. This person will help you keep track of all the appointments, payments, help with decorating for a wedding reception, and all other wedding-related activities that will need to be attended to.
* Be sure to have your engagement picture taken.  This would be nice to have as a special keepsake of your wonderful occasion, and could also be used later as a wedding favor, framed.

6-12 Months Before Your Special Day

* You should have already decided on your wedding date.  Make the reservation now for the venue where the ceremony and reception is to be held.
*  Make an appointment with the wedding officiant.
*  You now need to establish a budget for the wedding, and really try as much as possible to stick to it.
* Prepare your wedding guest list.  This needs time so you can review it often. You wouldn’t want to leave anybody uninvited (unintentionally)!
* Look around for a good photographer, florists, musicians, and a caterer.  Get estimates for all of these services.
* Register at a bridal gift registry.
* Pick out a wedding dress and accessories to go with it.  If you are having a seamstress make you a dress, this is the time to work out the details. Keep in mind, several fittings might be required.
* Choose your bridesmaids and set a date for ordering their dresses.

4-6 Months Before The Big Day

* Order your wedding invitations, stationery, and thank you notes.
* All of your services should have been chose such as photpgrapher, florist, etc. Now you need to review  the details with each one of these services just to make sure that everything remains agreed upon.
* Have your groom select his attire.
* Your honeymoon reservations should now be made.
* Confirm delivery of your wedding dress.

2 Months Before Your Wedding Day

* Plan the wedding rehearsal dinner.
* If you are having any wedding attendants that live out of town, arrange now for their hotels/lodging.
* Order your wedding cake.

1 Month Before your Big Day

* It’s now time to apply for your marriage license and see about the other legal items, especially for the bride – your  name/address changes on bank accounts and other legal documents.
* Choose your wedding ring set.
* Mail out your wedding invitations.
* Check the wedding party attire.

2 Weeks Before Your Wedding Day

* Plan your wedding hairstyle as well as your make-up with your stylist.
* Check with your food caterer and the reception hall venue for any last-minute changes.

1 Week Before Your Special Day

* Pack for your honeymoon.
* Wrap the gifts for your groom and the wedding attendants.
* Get the wedding rehearsal scheduled.
* Remind your wedding party of the time and place of the wedding (you don’t want any mistakes here!).

On Your Wedding Day

* Relax and go out for breakfast.  Eat plenty for breakfast so you’re well nourished today.
* Get your hair and make-up done mid morning.
* Try to shake off all your wedding concerns and details (your attendants will be taking care of these for you) and enjoy your day!

Here’s a Few Helpful Money-Saving Tips for Your Wedding

Just about every little girl has a picture of her dreaml wedding in her mind.  She sees flowers, ribbons and laces, and everything is perfect.

But when her special day finally arrives, she most likely has all the other wedding considerations heavy on her mind. although of course she still dreams of her perfect wedding, the main consideration now is the cost as she is contemplating all the different aspects of her wedding day.

Here are a few creative wedding ideas &  tips that may be help you save extra money:

* See about renting as much as you can, vs. buying. Many of the items you use wwon’t be used again. This includes the decorations, centerpieces, silk flowers, etc.  Another thing to do is to check with your wedding reception venue if they may have any of these things as well as backdrops, archways, etc. They may even let you use some of these at no cost.

* As you’re thinking about planning your church decorations, check to see if another couple will be married there the same day.the same day.  They are also probably looking to save money and  they may want to share the cost of the church decorations with you. The same decorations will be used for both ceremonies. This also saves on time, because the need to switch out decorations won’t be there.

* For the food at the reception, try checking with some of the culinary or cooking schools in your area. They may be able to cater your reception for just the price of the food-or maybe just a little extra.

* For the reception music, try checking for a local college band or even just a DJ.  And to save even more, do away with the DJ and the band, and just have your wedding songs downloaded from the internet and saved to a CD or a mp3 player. Just have these songs played through the speakers.

And here’s an extra idea that’s not a money saving tip, but I wanted to include it because it makes such a great impact on the kids at your wedding and their parents:

* Kids no doubt can become bored during a wedding reception.  So instead of having the kids sit with the adults, you can have a special little area where the kids can feel more casual and they can have a little party of their own.
