While society today is accustomed to the revealing aspects of much of the clothing worn, there are many brides who choose to have  modest wedding dresses as opposed to any other. That which defines exactly what it is that classifies a dress as modest will vary to a certain degree from one bride to the next but there are certain features of the dress that tend to classify them as being more modest than others.

Among the chief differences are the neckline, sleeve style, length and design. Other features will generally classify them as modest too, but those are the primary features we will discuss. Wedding dresses that have a plunging v-type neckline or those that are halter-like are considered to be provocative and revealing while dresess with a jewel neckline and sleeves will be considered modest wedding dresses.

Other factors that will determine as to whether or not a wedding dress is considered to be modest or provocative is the back of the dress while an open back tends to be not so modest, it can still have a scooping back, yet still be considered a modest gown.

Let’s take a wedding dress with a scooping back into example. It has a jewel neckline, and short sleeves, but has a scooping back. This dress would be considered by most to be  a simple modest wedding dress, yet if you took the same dress, and instead of having a jewel neckline, you gave it a plunging v-styled neckline, your dress would then be considered provocative by the same people who previously judged it to be modest.

Choosing the perfect wedding dress can be quite a difficult undertaking. Those who are considering having  modest wedding dresses made should be sure to be completely up front with the dress maker, so that he or she will know exactly what you are looking for.
