Western Theme Weddings Are A Popular Choice!
Western theme weddings are quite popular in states like Texas and Wyoming but they certainly aren’t limited to those states. A western themed wedding is often held right in the middle of busy New York City.
Most people wear jeans regularly nowadays. They may dress up to go to work or to church but for everyday wear most everybody wears jeans. Maybe that’s the main attraction for having a western themed wedding….nobody has to buy new clothes…not even the bride and groom.
A western themed wedding is very simple to plan and a quite a bit less expensive than traditional or other themed weddings. You can go wild with creative wedding ideas on this theme! The reception for a country themed wedding will probably not be held in a reception hall, although it could. The wedding ceremony will possibly have been performed in a field of wild flowers (or even a backyard) and the reception will most likely take place either in the same spot under a tent. Folding tables and chairs will work just fine. You could have a white picket fence for divider sections, and some with gates.
The color scheme must obviously start with blue (for blue jeans) and can be paired with yellow for the Yellow Rose of Texas or green for the color of grass or orange (the predominate color of a Western sunset), or red for the color of bandannas.
No 20 piece orchestra or super expensive band will be required….just a local country and western band will be able to supply just the right music.
The food? Why barbeque, of course!….and maybe some macaroni and cheese, potato salad, baked beans, chips and dip, corn on the cob, strawberry shortcake, sweet tea,….and not Champaign…BEER!
The western wedding decorations could be bales of hay and saddles. Your centerpieces can be made with potted cacti or upturned cowboy hats with boquets of wild flowers, or yellow roses on checked table cloths, or solid white tablecloths with red bandanas lined down the center placed diagaonally. Your imagination can really run wild when using a theme like this, and it’s loads of fun to plan.
As for the favors, that are given to the guests, they can be miniature horse shoes or chocolate cowboys or boots. You can check online stores for special themed favors as well.
Yup! Western theme weddings are popular for many reasons. They are far less formal and expensive, they are easy and fun to plan, and on top of everything else…they are just plain FUN!
